Volunteers of Change supported the hunger strike of a local activist Nabeel Khan, who began it on 20 August 2015. It was against the garbage dump which was illegally formed by the domestic waste pickers quite near to a hospital and opposite the door of a girls school in Abul Fazl Enclave. Associates of the VoC not only personally visited and signed his demands but they also participated in the Clean Okhla Rally organized during the 9-day strike, which ended with the promise of the MCD authorities to undertake regular and proper garbage uploading from the site and to build a temporary enclosure for waste dump there, until due arrangements are made for a permanent Dalawghar.

Mr Khan was also felicitated by the VoC on 30 August 2015 on the eve of its first anniversary of launch in a meeting of its associates and community leaders of Okhla at the meeting hall of All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat.
